Tom Brady attended the Emirates NBA Cup game between the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks on November 15 at Madison Square Garden in New York City with his son, John Edwards Thomas “Jack” Moynahan. Their photos, however, sparked mixed reactions, touching some and dividing others.

The father-son duo appeared engrossed in the game, effortlessly showcasing their relaxed style. Jack paired a light yellow jacket with black pants and white sneakers, while Tom opted for a black long-sleeved shirt, dark blue jeans, black shoes, and clear glasses.

Tom later posted a courtside photo on his Instagram Story, capturing their time together. In the image, the NFL legend beams with pride beside 17-year-old Jack, radiating joy. “The luckiest Dad in the world ❤️❤️❤️,” the athlete captioned his post.

While the post celebrated a loving father-son moment, it didn’t take long for netizens to weigh in on Jack’s appearance. “He looks nothing like his dad,” one user bluntly stated.

Others concurred that Jack looks nothing like Tom. Someone else pointed out, “Doesn’t look like his dad, but like his beautiful mother,” referring to Tom’s ex-girlfriend, actress Bridget Moynahan. Another added, “I see his mom in that smile.”

Amid the comparisons, one boldly declared, “Jack is so much more good looking [sic].” Many also agreed that Jack takes after his mother, with one commenter even expressing gratitude for the resemblance.

“I have a son who’s 6’5 and wants to play basketball,” he told Nohria, adding that Jack currently attends school in New York.

With a playful tone, Tom joked about Jack’s athleticism, noting that he jumps “unfortunately” as high as his own. “But I tell him, ‘Dude, you’re going to be a stud.’ I said ‘Wait till you hit your grow spurt—you’re going to be jumping higher you’re going to be dunking,’” he shared.

Despite the humor, Tom has emphasized that his support for Jack’s dreams is unwavering. “Whether he does or not, who cares? But I want him to know that his dad’s got his back,” he shared.

Beyond his passion for sports, many have pointed out Jack’s potential as a model, highlighting his impressive height as a key feature. This observation gained traction after Tom shared a photo of Jack alongside his younger son, Benjamin Rein, on social media in October.

The retired NFL star shared a candid photo on Instagram, showing himself standing between his sons, with his arms around them. In the image, both Tom and Jack wore white T-shirts, while Benjamin chose a black one.

The trio’s close bond was evident. The proud dad captioned the photo, “The gang does @taylorswift. I think I learned I’m a Reputation guy 😂,” referencing Swift’s album “Reputation.”

Building on the love and admiration shown by fans, Tom also took a moment in August to celebrate Jack’s 17th birthday by sharing a carousel of photos featuring Benjamin and their sister, Vivian. The post also featured a video of Jack and Tom playing golf together.

“You are truly a blessing in my life and I am so grateful to watch you mature into a young man,” the doting dad wrote on Instagram.

He continued, praising Jack’s qualities, “Your love of family, friends, school, athletics, hard work and dedication to everything you put your energy into are just some of your amazing qualities. I love spending every minute with you and I cherish our time together.”

Tom’s deep love for Jack is undeniable, but he’s not the only one who cherishes the teen. His ex-wife, Gisele, has also formed a strong bond with Jack—one that grew gradually.

In a 2015 “CBS Mornings” interview, Gisele revealed how her appreciation for her stepson evolved. She shared that she learned about Bridget’s pregnancy with Jack while she and Tom were dating.

“It was a challenging thing because here I am, thinking I’m dating this guy; we met, started dating, and everything is great—and then this happens, right? So, I felt like I didn’t know what to do. It was one of those moments of, like, do I just run away?” she recalled

Despite the initial difficulties, Gisele’s love for her stepson has continued to grow. “And I think, you know, now, eight years later, I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter bonus child,” the Brazilian model said of Jack.

Although Gisele and Tom divorced in 2022 after 13 years of marriage, they continue co-parenting their children. In August, Tom shared his views on fatherhood and the public expectations placed on his kids.

He emphasized that building a strong connection with his children required continuous effort. He also stated that he would never pressure them to pursue football as he did.

As for Jack, Tom reaffirmed his wish for him to find something he loves and to be self-motivated to work hard, whether it’s football or another passion.

“I wouldn’t chose for him to do that because there’s too many crazy expectations that people would put on them, most of them probably very unfair actually,” he noted in a June 2023 ESPN interview. Tom added that whatever path his kids would choose, he would be there to support them just as his parents supported him.

However, Tom mentioned that his children faced unique pressures in a Today interview last year. “There are a lot of expectations because of who their mom or their dad is, and it’s not necessarily fair to them because they didn’t choose that,” he shared.

Tom shared that despite public expectations for them to conform to certain standards, his children were simply kids navigating their own lives and friendships. He expressed his hope that they will discover their passions and form meaningful connections as they grow.
